AR Tetradrachm (14.04gm) Year 2, 133/4 C.E.

"Shim'on," façade of the Temple with Ark of the Covenent within / "Year 2 of the Freedom of Israel," lulav with etrog. Mildenberg 29 (O6/R20).

Very Rare (3 listed by Mildenberg). The obverse die of this tetradrachm is the first to name Shim'on, the leader of the new Jewish state. Leo Mildenberg selected this die to illustrate the dust jacket of his book, The Coinage of the Bar Kokhba War.

A well struck and fully centered piece. Superb
