Laureate head of Heracles right, bearded / Amphora between caps of Dioscuri, all in wreath. Grunauer VIII, 12, 62 (same dies). Ex Glendining, 25 March 1981, lot 53.

Rare. In its long and glorious history, Sparta was a significant power in Greece. It was not until the Hellenistic period that Sparta began to issue coinage in silver and bronze.
